TTSWTRS capsule collection for the “Tattoo” exhibition at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.

TTSWTRS has created a capsule collection for the “Tattoo” exhibition at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition arranged in collaboration with the Jacques Chirac museum in Paris is devoted to the art of tattoo as one of the most ancient body modification practices and 3000 years of history of this phenomenon. This geographically and chronologically large-scale project entails approximately 200 pieces that unfold diverse forms and functions of tattoos and their meaning in today’s culture.

The theme of the exhibition aligned with the mission and concept of one of the Ukrainian well-known fashion brands, TTSWTRS, which focuses on creating an optical illusion of tattoos on a naked body using clothes. Every piece is created by collaboration with tattoo artists around the world.

Appreciation of a tattoo as a piece of art and viewing it as an important part of visual culture became a foundation of of the collaboration with the museum. The capsule collection includes three TTSWTRS best selling items in the traditional nude color that imitates skin: mesh bodysuits, silk shawls and hoodies. The tattoo designs on each of the styles were changed for this collaboration.

“An idea of a tattoo has always inspired me by it’s bravery and freedom of self-expression. That is the energy I strive to translate into my designs. An opportunity to be a part of this projects is huge honor for us! It is also a big responsibility because this exhibition already has a worldwide success and now it’s held at the legendary Pushkin Museum. The phenomenon of a tattoo really does deserve its own exhibition and we are happy to be a part of the project that unpacks such modern deep understanding of this culture.” - says the founder and designer of TTSWTRS Anna Osmekhina.

The clothes from the collaboration are already being sold in gift shops at The Art Gallery of XIX-XX century Europe and America.
